Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, applicable charges, and your responsibilities during the rental period. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle in Rochdale, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions can vary depending on the vehicle type. A valid full driving license that meets the Rental Agreement's minimum holding period is required. Additionally, customers need to present valid identification and proof of their current address. Payment information and a security deposit are also necessary, along with any other criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Rochdale Car Hire: Booking & Payment
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Rochdale office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards through secure, trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required to identify and report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed by both parties. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and appropriate charges will apply. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at collection; otherwise, refueling charges will be incurred. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please notify us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that arise during the rental period, plus an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Information
- Basic third-party insurance is included with every car rental. Full coverage specifics and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial liability. Reviewing these options is advisable. You remain responsible for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess unless you opt for additional coverage. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses:
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any activities that pose a risk. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. The vehicle must be used for its intended purpose, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Operating the vehicle outside the designated geographical area requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Rochdale will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, related to your use of our services. Our overall liability for any claims will be capped at the total rental amount paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or for fraudulent actions.

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in this region.
